Odometer Digit Roll — effect skill for numbers & charts

For AI agents: find the right skill in one call — curl -s "https://skills.varg.ai/api/search?q=<what the person wants>" returns the matching how-to page and the best skills with install commands, as markdown (Russian works too). Full index: https://skills.varg.ai/llms.txt. Every page has a markdown twin: add .md to its path. Before generating anything, show the person the options on the how-to page.

Each digit rolls on its own wheel to the target, places settling right to left like an odometer.

What it does

Built on Number Wheel by HeyGen (HyperFrames), Apache-2.0. The write-up and recipes below are varg's.

Digits slide vertically in masked slots, with slight motion blur; new places rise into view as the number grows.

When: Prices, live counters, plan comparisons — numbers that change rather than appear.

Watch out: Do not roll digits at the same speed; lower places spin faster and settle last.

Timing: 0.8–1.4 s; ones place settles last; ease out with a tiny overshoot.

Also called: rolling number, number wheel, slot digits

In HyperFrames

npx hyperframes add number-wheel

In Remotion

// npx shadcn@latest add @remocn/rolling-number
<RollingNumber from={0} to={1299} />

In CapCut

Text → Text templates → "odometer"/"rolling number" if available; else stack digit columns and keyframe Position Y in masks.
