A bright band or lens flare sweeps across the frame and the shot changes behind it.

What it does

Built on Light Transitions by HeyGen (HyperFrames), Apache-2.0. The write-up and recipes below are varg's.

A diagonal streak of light crosses the image; at its brightest point A becomes B.

When: Product shots, luxury, beauty and logo reveals.

Watch out: Fake-looking hard-edged flares; keep the band soft and the colour matched to the scene.

Timing: 0.5–0.8 s (CapCut Light Sweep II 0.8 s, Lumin Flash 0.8 s)

(geq is slow; for long clips trim the window first.)

In HyperFrames

Light family blocks: transitions-light, overlay editorial-flash-overlay; or tween a wide (2400px+) soft gradient bar across with mix-blend-mode: screen while swapping scenes at its peak.

In Remotion

<TransitionSeries.Overlay durationInFrames={20}> containing a rotated white gradient <div> whose translateX is interpolated from -100% to 100%, with mixBlendMode: 'screen'.

In CapCut

Transitions tab → Light Effect → Light Sweep II, Lumin Flash, Lightflow Scan. Desktop: drag the tile onto the cut between two clips and set Duration in the right panel ("Apply to all" reuses it on every cut). Mobile: tap the small white square between clips, pick the transition, drag the duration slider, tap ✓. Tab labels and placement change between versions and regions.
