What it does

The agent does the translating itself: gst agent start from the gemini-srt-translator Python package parses an .srt, an .ass or a video's embedded subtitle stream with pysubs2 and hands the agent numbered batches, and gst agent commit checks item parity and saves progress, so long files resume cleanly and keep timing, line breaks and ASS override tags. No API key is needed in this agent mode; the same package can also translate on its own with a Gemini key. Text only: no transcription or burn-in, and quality depends on the agent's model and batch size.
